Shoreditch Electric

Shoreditch Electric

Description

Shoreditch Electric is home to the National Centre for Circus Arts. We are a registered charity and one of Europe’s leading providers of circus education. Our diverse range of work includes the BA (Hons) degree in Circus Arts, support for aspiring and established performers, recreational classes for adults, and progressive training for under-18s in the London Youth Circus. Each year, we involve thousands of people in the creation and performance of circus arts.

Retaining the features and character of an imposing industrial space, Shoreditch Electric began life as an electricity generating station in 1896. The building has been through numerous redevelopment programmes since 1990 and is now a state of the art facility that can host a wide range of events and functions.

All revenue from the commercial venue hire of Shoreditch Electric goes straight back into the running of the National Centre for Circus Arts. SXSW’s support in choosing us as one of their venues, allows us to continue our work of training the next generation of performers, improving access for those less able to participate, and providing support for professional circus artists in the UK.
