Dr. Caroline Lustenberger is a neuroscientist, author, and lecturer at ETH Zurich, where she leads the Sleep Lab within the Neural Control of Movement Lab. After earning her PhD at ETH Zurich, she conducted postdoctoral research at UNC Chapel Hill, developing innovative closed-loop EEG systems to modulate sleep and behavior. Supported by grants such as the SNSF Ambizione, she established her own research group to study how sleep-related brain oscillations support recovery in the brain and body. By combining advanced neuromodulation and wearable technologies, her work bridges laboratory research with real-world applications to create transformative health interventions across the life- and healthspan. Caroline is also the co-founder of the Herencia initiative, which combines research, healthcare, and social entrepreneurship to advance Alzheimer’s biomarker and treatment development in a unique genetic cohort in Colombia.
