Andy Green

Andy Green is cofounder of the Modern Cockney Festival, a community partnership between his social enterprise Grow Social Capital CIC and the Bengali East End Heritage Society.

A born and bred East Ender, Andy is passionate about tackling social prejudice, and building greater social cohesion through shared social identities based on positive, inclusive values.

The Festival enables anyone with an affinity with ‘non-posh Londoners’ to create more inspiring stories and narratives about themselves by celebrating their evolving community and was recently featured on BBC Radio 4’s ‘Word of Mouth’ with Michael Rosen.

Andy is author of six books translated into eight languages, including ‘Tubespiration’ where he even runs creativity classes using the London Tube as a classroom.
