Sharon D. Lloyd – Beauty Futurist | Equity Advocate | Digital Identity Thinker
Sharon D. Lloyd is an Associate Professor, Deputy Director of the Centre for Equity and Inclusion at London Metropolitan University, and a transformative Beauty Futurist exploring the evolving intersections of identity, technology, and self-expression. A Vogue 100 Innovator, she critically examines beauty as both a social construct and a digital frontier—where AI, representation, and algorithmic bias influence self-worth, cultural capital, and belonging.
As the former Co-Chair of the British Beauty Council’s DEI Committee, she spearheaded landmark initiatives like A Beauty Industry That Looks Like You, advocating for inclusive beauty standards across industries. As Co-Founder and Chair of Fashion and the Arts Creating Equity (FACE), she leads national projects amplifying Black and Brown voices in creative education. Her work—through thought leadership, research, and high-impact talks like Black Girls Don’t Blush at the V&A—challenges outdated narratives and pushes for equity in beauty, media, and the digital space, shaping a future where identity is self-defined, not algorithmically imposed.
