TYGERMYLK is the project of Hastings-based multidisciplinary artist Hayley Harland. A fierce advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and disability inclusivity, Harland’s debut album, Local Girl, Always Tired, marks a bold return after multiple throat surgeries and a battle with chronic illness. The album weaves ethereal electronic textures with nostalgic indie-rock arrangements, underscored by Harland’s unique lyrical voice. Since debuting with poignant single “What God Would Keep Us Apart” at Brighton Pride in 2018—a track that earned acclaim from BBC News and the Gay Times—TYGERMYLK has captivated audiences with raw authenticity and richly textured performances. Highlights include festival appearances at Glastonbury and Isle of Wight, co-writing and featuring on the Amazon Original series Flack (now on BBC iPlayer), and a live TV debut on Channel 4’s The Last Leg. Years of busking on London’s Southbank taught Harland the power of vulnerability, a quality that shines on Local Girl, Always Tired. Co-produced with Tony Burrata (Edie Bens, The Staves), the album explores queerness, small-town life, and the intricacies of grief, joy, and friendship. At its heart, it’s a testament to resilience, told through lush, layered soundscapes that speak to anyone who’s ever felt stuck yet dreamed of more.
