Queer Ass Folk

Queer Ass Folk started as a grassroots music night in Hastings, celebrating original live music by LGBTQ+ songwriters. Founded by accomplished musicians Charlie Austen (she/her) and Hayley Harland AKA Tygermylk (they/them), it offers a magical and welcoming space beyond the typical loud queer party scene.

Following a sell-out debut in 2024, Queer Ass Folk was invited to curate a stage for Trans Pride Hastings and will now be hosting a stage at SXSW London. With support from Arts Council England and Chalk Cliff Trust, this is just the beginning of something much bigger. Prioritizing fair pay, accessibility, and inclusivity, the event fosters genuine connection, providing a home for queer music lovers, introverts, and neurodivergent individuals alike. More than just a gig night, Queer Ass Folk is a growing movement, amplifying queer voices through music and community.
