softchaos is an Ecuadorian-American artist and dj traversing the intersections of music, art and performance, who is carving out their own place in the landscape of electronic music. Defined by a meticulous and mischievous approach to selection, every set encapsulates softchaos’ distinctive vision.

Their dexterous ability to craft sets known for their musical breadth has brought them across the world and they have experienced rapid growth as an emerging artist, performing alongside heavyweights across genres such as Juliana Huxtable, Villano Antillano, Midland, Jensen Interceptor, SPFDJ, Yves Tumor, Lady Shaka and DJ Stingray, amongst others.

Their versatility is seen in the range of their schedule, from their one-of-a-kind sets at Sónar Festival and Primavera Sound, Amsterdam Dance Event, to club nights at Berlin’s legendary Tresor floor, Fabric London, and RSO to residencies at Barcelona clubs like Nitsa and Razzmatazz, and playing events like Herensauna and Never Sleep, softchaos is at the forefront of playfully avant-garde and disobedient electronic music at home and international stages alike.

Harnessing the spirit of their punk music upbringing, and referencing their culture through the classic landscapes of New York City and Detroit, their selection of techno, breaks, and rebellious sounds offer a transcontinental call and response and an offering to dancefloors everywhere. Both thoughtful and commanding, their sound embodies reverence to techno and club culture while staying locked into the new turn in music, blending with finesse.

This all stands alongside softchaos’ distinguished work as a trans experimental musician and artist - working across performance, music, sound design and text. In their work, they blend music making and visual art, paralleling spaces of performance. Their work has been commissioned by CTM Festival, Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona, Matadero Madrid Centro de Creación Contemporánea and various fine arts publications and platforms.

They hold a residency on Oroko Radio, and host Black Rhizome, a show that platforms multidisciplinary artists across diaspora.

Their first project, a double EP, is slated for release in early 2026.

softchaos is actively involved with broader initiatives pushing for diversity and inclusion in the arts, including advocacy for marginalized and the larger project of project curation of artists and work that engages and reanimates the history of electronic music to trace it to the roots it comes from, to lift those who built it, and re-position music as powerful social transformation.
