On January 25, 2012 Austin Texas and the London Borough of Hackney formally twinned as Sister Cities. What ensued over the following years is an example of extraordinary tech, creative and community collaborations of every sort. Having the long-anticipated SXSW now debut in London -- and, specifically, in Hackney, no less -- is the perfect bookend to 13 years of natural, organic and successful collaboration between these two buzzing hubs.
