Valerie established the world’s first technology cluster for fusion energy. Her role is to encourage collaboration, knowledge sharing and innovation between companies and organisations interested in fusion and the myriad technologies that make it happen. She joined the UK Atomic Energy Authority in 2021 following a career in journalism at New Scientist. She has a PhD in particle physics and knows her neutrons from her neutrinos.
