Suresh Balaji serves as Chief Marketing Officer at Lloyds Banking Group, where he leads the charge in creating and delivering brand and marketing strategies, driving customer lifecycle management though consumer data & analytics and designing customer experiences to drive growth.


Before joining Lloyds, Suresh was Global Head of Marketing & Communications at Standard Chartered Bank in Hong Kong. His career journey also includes senior leadership roles at HSBC, WPP, and GSK, covering strategy, sales, product development, media, and advertising across the UK, Middle East, India, and Asia Pacific.


A passionate advocate for inclusion and diversity, Suresh champions gender equality and works tirelessly to drive meaningful change. Beyond the boardroom, he is deeply engaged with emerging technologies, particularly AI, and is energised by exploring the extent of what AI can enable for people, communities, and brands. He collaborates with global leaders to harness collective influence in shaping a safer, more inclusive next generation of the internet, while also championing the responsible, humancentric use of AI.
