Stuart joined The BRIT School in 1994 from working in film and theatre. He founded the Musical Theatre Course and was Director of Theatre before becoming Principal in 2012.
Stuart has established deep community partnerships with local schools and charities with an interest in palliative care and social justice.
Stuart speaks globally about free arts education, has advised and consulted other institutions and was invited on stage to present alumni and artist RAYE with a BRIT
Award in 2024. Under his leadership, The BRIT School was judged as Outstanding in all five categories in 2024.
Stuart sees The BRIT School as a unique and inclusive home for original voices and talent and a platform for young people to train for free and progress into a plethora of roles in the creative Industries.
