Matt joined Accel in 2024, where he focuses on AI and inference, application software, and fintech. He has led Accel’s investments in companies including Clove, PhaseV, and Port.
Matt previously co-founded GoCardless, building it into one of the world’s leading recurring payments platforms. He first partnered with Accel in 2011 when the firm backed GoCardless, and worked closely with the team for over a decade. As a founder and board member, he helped scale the company across product, go-to-market, and team, to support more than 85,000 businesses and process over $35B annually across 30 countries.
He also co-founded Nested and is one of Europe’s most respected angel investors, backing companies including Arq, Cleo, Fonoa, Gamma, Incident.io, n8n, and Wayve.ai.
Matt began his career at McKinsey & Company after graduating from University of Oxford.
