Manny Marroquin was born in Guatemala and raised in Los Angeles. He began playing drums at age 11 and further developed his passion for music at Hamilton High School for the Arts, where he became interested in studio work.
Driven by curiosity, Manny began as a runner at Enterprise Studios, working diligently to learn the craft and advance quickly. His breakthrough came during a late-night session when he was asked to create a rough mix after the engineer had left. The positive response marked the start of a career built on talent, discipline, and dedication.
Manny’s work appears on nearly 250 million albums worldwide. He has contributed to over 40 number one albums and 100 Top 10 albums on The Billboard 200, as well as twelve Hot 100 number one singles and more than forty Top 10 singles. His achievements span multiple genres.
Since receiving his first Grammy in 2005, he has earned 18 in total, including Best Engineered Album for John Mayer’s “Battle Studies” in 2011 and Record of the Year for Lizzo’s “About Damn Time.”
