Leila Toplic

Leila Toplic is a changemaker at the intersection of climate innovation and ethical AI. As Chief Communications & Trust Officer at Carbonfuture, she’s helping scale high-integrity carbon removal by building the digital trust infrastructure behind it.

Named a Bloomberg Green Champion (2024) and one of the Top 33 Women Shaping the Future of Responsible AI (2025), Leila brings two decades of experience spanning Microsoft, mission-driven startups, and NetHope—a consortium of 65 global NGOs—where she led groundbreaking work in AI, climate, and education.

She authored the first-ever Digital for Climate Adaptation landscape assessment, now shaping climate resilience investments by NGOs and governments. Leila also serves on the Board of the Negative Emissions Platform, advising on carbon removal policy in Europe, and on the Advisory Board of EqualVoice, where she developed an AI tool now used in newsrooms to close the gender visibility gap in media.
