Jill Scott

Jill Scott, born in Sunderland, England, is a celebrated former professional footballer renowned for her commanding midfield presence and outstanding contributions to women’s football.

She began her career at Sunderland before joining Everton in 2006, where she won the FA Women’s National League Cup (2007–08) and the Women’s FA Cup (2010). In 2013, she signed for Manchester City, playing a key role in a golden era that included the Women’s Super League title in 2016, along with multiple FA Cups and League Cups. She later had loan spells at Everton and Aston Villa before retiring in 2022.

Internationally, Scott is England’s second most capped player, earning 161 appearances and representing the Lionesses at ten major tournaments. She was part of the historic squad that won UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 on home soil and also represented Great Britain at the London 2012 and Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Since retiring, Jill has built a successful media career. She won I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2022, serves as Blue Team Captain on Sky’s A League of Their Own, and is a regular panellist on The Overlap’s Stick to Football. She co-hosts the podcast Long Story Short with her friend Kaz Carney, sharing stories from their lives and careers.

Jill also co-owns Boxx2Boxx Coffee in Manchester with her fiancée Shelly.

In recognition of her outstanding contribution to the game and her impact on women’s football in England, she was awarded an MBE for services to football.
