Jessica Deseo is an independent creative with a background in graphic design, working across studio, in-house, branding, and packaging. For the past eight years, she has taught packaging design at ArtCenter College of Design and Otis College of Art and Design, where she has been a leading advocate for integrating sustainability into the curriculum. She has helped transform traditional design frameworks to embed sustainable thinking into the process. Since 2018, her students have earned top honors for sustainability-driven work, including awards from D&AD, The One Show, Core77, Pentawards, and more.
In addition to teaching, Jessica writes about sustainability and design for The Dieline and is the author of the forthcoming book Sustainable Graphic Design The Fundamentals. She has spoken on sustainable design and emerging design trends at conferences including Advertising Week and HOW Design Live, and has been a guest lecturer at the School of Visual Arts Master’s in Branding program, where she speaks on branding, packaging, design and sustainability.
Jessica is also a partner at PRINT Magazine, the historic graphic design publication founded in 1940. She has served as a mentor for the New Museum of Contemporary Art and as a juror for competitions including Young Ones, Costa Rica Design Week, Core77, and Latin Design Awards.
