As Chief Information Officer at Starling Bank, Harriet Rees leads technology strategy and operations, overseeing data, engineering, information security, and product development. Since 2018, she has built Starling’s in-house data science capability, drawing on her background in Actuarial Science and Applied Mathematics.
Harriet spearheaded the development of award-winning ML and computer vision models, driving operational efficiency and enhancing customer experience. This includes recent recognition for applying LLMs to improve key operations and customer outcomes.
She is the Co-Chair of the Bank of England’s AI Taskforce and regularly speaks at industry events, advocating for ethical and responsible AI adoption.
