Dennis Nelson is CEO of DEEP Institute, a division of DEEP focused on human performance. DEEP is an international ocean engineering and technology company on a mission to make humans aquatic. Its underwater habitats enable scientists and researchers to live and work beneath the ocean’s surface for extended periods, supporting ocean exploration, marine conservation, and training. In his role, Dennis oversees diving operating standards, training development, and management of key assets, including its submersible fleet and 80‑metre‑deep training and development facility, DEEP Campus. This facility is a repurposed quarry providing a controlled environment for underwater training and the testing of subseatechnology.
Before joining DEEP, Dennis built a diverse career in operational leadership and organisational development, including serving as CEO of an investment company supporting high‑growth companies to expand in the U.S. His multidisciplinary background enables him to guide complex operational ecosystems and ensure DEEP is mission‑ready as subsea exploration enters a new era.
