Dan joined the UK civil service in 2017 following several years working in public relations and the City of London. In government, Dan has worked in the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), Department for Exiting the European Union and the Home Office. He has a background in political work and security, including with the Metropolitan Police Service. He was most recently the Director of Trade at the British High Commission Dhaka, Bangladesh from 2022 to 2025. Dan took up his position as the British Deputy Consul General in the British Consulate General Jeddah in August 2025.
