Ben Zand
Documentary Filmmaker and the Founder & CEO
ZANDLAND
Ben Zand is a British-Iranian documentary filmmaker and the Founder & CEO of ZANDLAND, an independent studio operating across broadcast, digital and creator-led platforms.
His work focuses on access-driven storytelling inside hidden worlds, subcultures and systems of power — blending long-form documentary craft with a deep understanding of digital audiences and distribution. His credits include Breaking Ranks (ITV), The Guardians (BBC Earth, with HRH Prince William), Untangled (Channel 4 podcast with Stacey Dooley), Cult of Conspiracy: QAnon, the BAFTA-nominated Kingpins, and The Great Amazon Heist (Channel 4).
Alongside commissioned work with major global platforms and brands, Ben has increasingly focused on building owned IP and direct audience relationships. ZANDLAND self-funds original projects including Human — a monthly, unfiltered documentary series exploring how people live and make meaning around the world, from US prisons and Gooners to Gaza and Chicago Gangs.
Ben sits at the intersection of creator, director and distributor, and is particularly interested in how long-form storytelling survives — and evolves — inside the creator economy.
