The Empathy Project

Bel Jacobs is a former fashion editor turned speaker, writer and campaigner on climate justice, animal rights and alternative systems in fashion. She is co-founder of The Islington Climate Centre, a hub for social and environmental groups in North London. She is also the founder of The Empathy Project, a cultural project seeking to change the way humans see animals, as a key tenet of the transition to a more evolved future. Working via media, education and film, the Project challenges notions of human supremacy that drive colonialist, extractive mindsets. Its approach is cultural and compassionate, interrogating the structures of oppression that many of us still take for granted.
