Bassist, writer, and award-winning cheesemaker Alex James formed Blur in 1988 alongside Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon and Dave Rowntree. In 2023, Blur returned with their ninth studio album, The Ballad of Darren, which saw them go from stadium to screen with the critically acclaimed feature-length documentary blur: To The End. Alex started making cheese in 2003, and hosts an annual food and music event, the Big Feastival, on his farm in the Cotswolds where he lives with his wife Claire, and their five children. Debuting at this year’s edition of the festival, Alex James’ Britpop Classical promises to bring the unforgettable anthems of the 90's to life, fusing the raw energy of the era’s biggest hits, with the breathtaking power of a 20-piece orchestra.
