Description

Ailin is Digital Strategist for Medecins Sans Frontieres / Doctors Without Borders. She works at the intersection of digital strategy, operational communications, and risk management, helping humanitarian teams navigate disinformation threats, misinformation campaigns, and digital security risks.

With a background in international humanitarian operations, Ailin has advised teams in complex environments, including Haiti, DRC, Palestine, Afghanistan, Lebanon, and Ukraine. Her work focuses on both big-picture strategies—such as integrating disinformation threat assessments into organisational frameworks—and practical tactics, from monitoring hostile narratives to countering false information effectively.

Previously, Ailin was the Digital Manager at the think tank ODI Global, leading the organization’s digital presence. She also worked for Conciliation Resources, focusing on peacebuilding, as well as South Yorkshire Housing Association and Amnesty International, where she specialised in digital communications and advocacy. Her career began in Colombia as a journalist and researcher, covering political and social issues.

Ailin holds an MA in Global Politics and Law from The University of Sheffield and a postgraduate certificate in Digital Communications Management from the Manchester Metropolitan University.
