Born in Rubavu and raised in Kigali, YewëeH is a bold voice in contemporary African music, blending traditional Rwandan Gakondo with Afrobeat, jazz, and soul. A graduate of ESG with a degree in Art, his sound is deeply rooted in identity, nature, and cultural memory. Inspired by legends like Fela Kuti and Miriam Makeba, YewëeH has crafted a genre of his own-Afro-Gakondo-a rhythmic, poetic force redefining East African sound. His acclaimed works SIBA, MUBIGORI, and IGIKUMWE reflect a commitment to both tradition and innovation. With collaborations alongside The Ben, Bruce Melodie, and Eddy Kenzo, and a debut album on the horizon, YewëeH is poised to bring the spirit of Rwanda to the global stage.
