The Mental Health Crisis

The mental health crisis is not confined by borders—it is a global emergency, especially for children and adolescents. One in seven young people worldwide has a mental health disorder. Suicide ranks as the fourth leading cause of death among youth aged 15–29. COVID-19 only spotlighted what had long been growing: a massive gap between mental health needs and the systems in place to address them.
