Description

Tim Reeve has been Deputy Director and COO of the V&A since 2013, taking a strategic and operational overview of all museum activities, and leading the development of V&A East for over a decade. V&A East is dedicated to creative opportunity and its power to bring change and comprises two new free cultural destinations – V&A East Storehouse, which opens on 31 May 2025, and V&A East Museum, scheduled to open in Spring 2026. Both sites are part of East Bank – which Tim chairs – and is the Mayor of London's £1.1 billion Olympic legacy project, which has created a new arts, innovation, and education hub in Stratford’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, with Sadlers Wells East, UCL East and the London College of Fashion already completed. Fundamental to V&A East is the engagement and empowerment of talented, young and diverse east London audiences, and the opening of opportunity for the creative inspiration that the V&A’s peerless collections and archives of art, design and performance can provide. Tim will speak about the part that East Bank hopes to play in unlocking the full potential of the Olympic legacy, and the V&A’s work in building new, reciprocal networks in the four host broughs, the V&A East Youth Collective, and his unique vision for V&A East Storehouse as a new paradigm for access to national collections.
