Mentoring at The Courthouse

June 2, 2026, 1:00 - 1:20 PM

Sarah Linton (Film & TV Development)

Mentor Session: Scripted TV Development, from Idea to Greenlight.

Sarah is Head of Development at Instinct Productions, where she oversees the company's high-end scripted film, television and documentary slate.

With over two decades of experience across development, script editing and production, Sarah has held senior roles at BBC Studios, Kudos Film & Television, Carnival Films and NBCUniversal, and has consulted for ABC Network as their UK Comedy and Drama Scout. Her credits as Script Editor include the first series of Killing Eve, Downton Abbey, The Halcyon and Lucky Man.

Sarah is an experienced mentor and advisor, having worked with international Netflix Grow Creative Fiction Labs, Channel 4 Screenwriting, and as a core tutor on the Serial Eyes programme at the DFFB (Berlin Film School).

At this session, attendees are welcome to ask Sarah about scripted comedy and drama development, storytelling, navigating the UK, US and European television landscape, script editing, identifying and nurturing writing and directing talent, and building a career across the industry.

Information for mentees:

  • Please arrive 5 minutes early to check in for your mentor session. Late arrivals (anyone not present at the start of their booked session) may lose their slot to a walk-up attendee.
  • If a session is fully booked, you’re welcome to try as a walk-up in case a booked attendee doesn’t attend.
  • We would recommend preparing a brief introduction about yourself, along with any specific questions or areas you’d like guidance on from your mentor.
