Heavy Arabia Presents: The Sound of Saudi Metal

Wastedland is a melodic death metal band from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, formed in 2004 and recognized as one of the country’s pioneering metal acts. After returning from hiatus in 2021, the band marked a powerful new chapter with the release of Fade Away and The Dark Passenger, demonstrating their signature blend of Scandinavian influences and folk themes.

Since then, they’ve gained both regional and international attention: performing at Dubai Metal Fest as an opener for Moonspell, and most notably becoming the first Saudi metal band to play Wacken Open Air in 2024 as the Wacken Metal Battle Middle East national winner.
