Clara Serra Lopez

Clara Serra López is a vocalist, composer, songwriter and pianist based in London from Spanish, Catalan and Cuban heritage.

Over the last few years Clara has been crafting her own sound combining her cultural heritage with deep influences in jazz, classical, middle eastern and electronic music. She blends jazz language with Spanish lyrics and harmony, English lyrics with Mediterranean ornamentation and delves into the use of Latin and Iberian rhythms whilst exploring electronic soundscapes.

Always drawn to improvisation and jazz voices, Clara moved to London to study Jazz Performance after gaining a place at the prestigious Guildhall School. Feeling the limitations of studying a creative degree in an academic setting, it was through venturing in and around the underground music scenes of the city that she was introduced to a whole a new world of musicians, cultures and people that would reaffirm her love for music.

Winner of the Peter Whittingham 2021 Jazz Development award and the 2025 Next Level Help Musician's award, Clara brings a completely unique take on singing and writing, offering an exciting new voice to the music ecology.

Ahead of her upcoming debut EP release, she’ll be bringing her new full band set up to SXSW London, accompanied by some of London's top musicians.
