Alexander Blane

From a young prodigy signed to a major label to an independent force in the music industry, Alexander Blane is a testament to passion, perseverance, and pure talent. Born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, Blane’s love for music began early, inspired by the city’s rich soul, R&B, and hip-hop culture. His parents nurtured his creative passion, and a pivotal childhood moment—stepping into a recording booth during a family trip to Indiana Beach—solidified his dream of pursuing music as a career.

By the age of thirteen, his undeniable talent caught the attention of Willie Taylor of Day 26 and RoShawn Lyles of the Chicago group Kwiet Storm. Under their mentorship, he began writing his own music, performing outside barbershops and grocery stores, and refining his craft. Sneaking into his brother’s bedroom to study his lyrics became a routine—Blane was relentless in his pursuit of greatness.

At just fifteen, Blane’s journey took a major turn when he joined the group Block Xchange (B.X.C.) and was signed to Ludacris’ Disturbing Tha Peace (DTP) under Def Jam. After flying to New York to perform for legendary executive L.A. Reid, they were signed on the spot. The experience taught Blane valuable lessons about patience, ownership, and artistry. Creative differences led Blane to make a bold decision: he asked for his release, determined to build something authentic on his terms.

Life after leaving DTP wasn’t easy, but Blane channeled every challenge into his music. Rather than relying on a system that limits creative control, he chose to carve his own path, stepping away from the major-label machine to focus on independence. That decision set the stage for the next chapter of his career—one built on brotherhood, resilience, and authenticity.

Together with his mentor and friend Antonio “Tone” Barnes, Blane co-founded AB Music Group, an independent label designed to redefine what it means to be an artist in today’s industry. Built on trust, respect, and creative freedom, AB Music Group serves as the foundation for Blane’s vision—giving him complete control over his sound, image, and business.

His latest works, including “Take Me There” and “Somewhere In Maui,” showcase his evolution as an artist, seamlessly blending R&B, hip-hop, and house music into a sound that’s both nostalgic and forward-thinking. Writing and recording in the streets of Maui, Hawaii, Blane transformed real-life experiences into timeless records, proving that his music isn’t just about sound—it’s about storytelling, emotion, and connection.
