Char Grant’s career has been immersed in talent development, artist management and A&R for over 15 years.
Previous Management clients include MNEK and Little Mix for Modest! management. Char was senior A&R at BMG publishing, signing and creatively supporting platinum musicians and artists including P2J and AOD.
A founding A&R director role followed at Universal Music’s 0207 Def Jam, where she nurtured the talents of the roster including Debbie, Tendai, Potter Payper and Stormzy.
In 2019 Char co-founded The Debrief, a thriving social media and event platform that elevates women of colour in music.
In 2020 she co-founded the Black Music Coalition, a CIC dedicated to creating equity for Black executives in the music business.
Babychild Music was founded in 2023. Clients include management of producer Wavsdntdie, A&R Director consultancy for independent label 7Wallace, Advisor to Peak Moods and columnist for TRENCH magazine.
Active Board positions include the BPI council, the Power-up executive steering committee and the industry advisory board at ICMP.
