Pharaoh's Dance

Pharaoh’s Dance is a project blending Afrobeat & Reggae, spiritual jazz, and ambient soundscapes into an immersive live experience.

Rooted in the ancient polyrhythmic traditions of West Africa and inspired by the freedom of improvisation, the band explores groove as a musical and spiritual language. The music exists in a space that contains elements of both groove and ambient music, focusing on the feel of the music rather than any particular structure or form.

Pharaoh’s Dance formed from a shared interest in groove, improvisation, and different non-western musical traditions from around the world. The six piece band: featuring keyboards, bass, guitar, drums, saxophone, and trumpet developed as a way to explore rhythm beyond fixed structure, focusing on collective playing and real-time creation.
