Description

Majur is a transgender singer and songwriter from Salvador, Bahia, who rose to prominence in the music scene after being discovered by Caetano Veloso. At 29 years old, she is the artist behind the album Ojunifé (2021), which features collaborations with Liniker and Luedji Luna, and the voice behind ARRISCA (2023), with guest appearances by Ivete Sangalo, Xamã, and Olodum. Beyond bringing lightness and emotion to her songs, Majur is a powerful symbol of representation. Today, she leads a wave of trans artists who are changing the narrative and serving as a major inspiration—especially for the LGBTQIAP+ community, who see in her the possibility of dreaming big. In addition to lending her voice to hits like Andarilho and AmarElo by Emicida, Majur is embracing a new era with her second studio album, ARRISCA, which explores contemporary pop and her musical versatility. Alongside her dancers, she celebrates diversity and ballroom culture in her performances. In 2023, Majur was one of Emicida’s special guests at the Womad Festival in the UK. The following year, 2024, marked a historic moment in her career—she performed her first international show at Denmark’s Roskilde Festival, debuted on Rock in Rio’s Palco Mundo, and was personally invited by Alcione to pay tribute to her on Palco Sunset the very next day.

BIO Inspired by legends such as James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Tim Maia, and Fat Family, Majur blends different sounds with alternative touches to sing about love and her own journey. The Bahian artist had a powerful career start, featuring on Emicida’s track AmarElo. In 2021, she released her debut album, Ojunifé, a project that captures her self-discovery journey while reinforcing messages of diversity and Black love. The album features guest appearances by Liniker and Luedji Luna. In 2023, she released ARRISCA, her second studio album, which showcases her versatility and contemporary pop influences. The following year, she made her debut on Rock in Rio’s Palco Mundo and performed internationally for the first time at Roskilde Festival in Denmark. In 2025, she kicked off the year with Obará, a special project in Salvador’s Pelourinho. This performance, held in January, paves the way for her third studio album and a series of new shows across Brazil.
