‘The Singing Wizard’, international Reggae artist Christopher Ellis is a talented & accomplished singer/songwriter born in London.
The youngest son of ‘The Godfather of Reggae’, the late Alton Ellis, Christopher’s musical foundation is rooted in the early sounds of Jamaica, with his father leading as one of the pioneers of an original sound the ‘Rock Steady’ era.
Growing up in a musical family Christopher often spent time around reggae legends such as John Holt, Ken Boothe and Delroy Wilson, absorbing the craft of musical artistry and stage performance. It would come as no surprise that he would soon begin astounding audiences with his incredibly natural vocal ability from the early age of 11. Touring internationally with his father, Christopher quickly developed a unique sound and a profound level of professionalism that would continue to support him in his career in the future. Signing to The Marley’s ‘Ghetto Youth International’ label in 2009, founded by Stephen & Damien Marley, Christopher later released his first single ‘End of Time’ which became the catalyst for his evolving catalogue with his ‘Better than Love’ EP (2013) ‘Here We Are’ (2017) and monumental love ballad ‘Flame against the Wind’ (2020). With the success of his earlier projects, Christopher propelled his career to unthinkable heights when he mastered his sound with singles ‘Still Go A Dance’ and ‘Rub A Dub’. Both songs culturally shook the genre, with its impact dominating the sound system world!
Christopher’s flourishing career has led him to perform internationally at some of the most distinguished stage shows culturally from ‘Reggae Jam’ to ‘Rebel Salute and having toured with the likes of The Marley’s, Snoop Dogg and Freddie McGregor to name a few, the notable singer has hit stages in countries such as Canada, Italy and New Zealand. With sell out shows in London’s renowned Jazz Café to successfully touring across Japan, consistent features on the airwaves in the UK and abroad, Christopher has a worldwide fanbase which continues to expand.
