00ab is an Upper Clapton–based artist of Yoruba descent crafting vibrant, genre-fluid music that moves between Afrohouse, Amapiano, alternative rap and jazz-inflected sounds. Rooted in a rich and varied life experience, his work blends introspection, playful lyricism, and club-ready energy through a self-defined approach that is both “playful and thoughtful.”

Emerging in 2020, 00ab has developed a distinctive sound shaped by experimentation and global influence, evolving from lo-fi and boom bap foundations into a boundaryless sonic world. Named by Clash Magazine as one of the artists set to define 2024, and highlighted by New Wave Magazine for his ability to “glide through the barriers of genre,” his work continues to resist categorisation, with tracks like Menace showcasing his balance of vulnerability and self-aware lyricism.
