About Lunar
Who are we?Lunar Ventures (https://www.lunar.vc/) invests between €500k and €1.5 million into pre-seed and seed-stage computer science and deeptech startups, whether leading, co-leading, or following. We're thesis-driven and have invested early into companies building AI, FHE, local-first, DeSci, and Rocket Cargo. We back ambitious European and US founders with the aim of winning in the US market. To date, Lunar manages €90m and has invested in over 35 companies. Beyond providing capital and supporting founders, our mission is to enable founders from science and engineering backgrounds to do the best work they can and take big risks on building the future of computing.
Why us?We aren't from finance or consulting: we are scientists and technologists who deeply understand technical founders. We support long-term decision-making by encouraging the risk and patience needed for deep tech. Since we come from science, we're the right people to help you iterate on your product vision, storytelling, and Ideal Customer Profile, all the way to brainstorming about algorithms. We further help founders hands-on with R&D strategy, raising further funding, and hiring, always with a "first, do no harm" approach. We've also built trust among strong Tier 1 US investors who believe in our portfolio choices and are positioned to lead your next round.
Who do we partner with?Lunar led the founding rounds of category winners like Zama (FHE), ElectricSQL (local-first), deepset and Otera (enterprise LLMs). We've helped our portfolio companies secure follow-on rounds led by Tier 1 US investors like Spark Capital, Founders Fund, Upfront, and GV. We launched our €50m Fund II in 2023 and will invest in another ~15 companies over the next two years.
