Mentor Session: Independent Live Concert Promotions - Ant Thompson
Ant is the founder and director of Notion Live Events, an independent music promotion and consultancy company based in the North East of England.
Since launching in 2021, he has built Notion into one of the region’s most active promoters, delivering 100+ shows annually across a wide range of genres and venue sizes. His work spans everything from grassroots club shows to large-scale concerts and multi-venue festivals, with a focus on developing artists and creating culturally relevant live experiences.
He is the creator of A Stone’s Throw Festival, a coastal, multi-venue event that has welcomed hundreds of emerging artists to North Tyneside and established itself as a key platform for new music discovery in the region.
Alongside promotion, Ant works closely with venues and partners on programming, operations, and long-term strategy, helping to strengthen local music infrastructure and support sustainable growth within the live sector.
