KVSAL has been carving out his path in Vienna’s underground music scene since 2015, experimenting with his sound both as part of a collective and as a solo artist. Over the years, he has performed on some of the city’s most recognized stages, including the Donauinselfest (Europe’s largest free open-air festival) and the internationally renowned Impulstanz Festival. In 2022, the multifaceted artist released his debut EP "white fears brown soul", along with a short film-style music video that was featured at the Vienna Shorts Film Festival—an impressive early milestone before a clear artistic identity had even fully emerged.
The year 2023 brought a personal reckoning. Changing relationships and a necessary break with the past led to grief and emotional upheaval, but also a period of deep self-exploration. How do you process powerful emotions that have been buried for years? When does anger become harmful, and how do you come to terms with your own limitations? What does it mean to truly feel loss, embrace vulnerability, and allow change? KVSAL’s upcoming debut album "SAD BO1 S€AZON" dives into these questions, channeling raw emotion, hard-won clarity, and a renewed sense of purpose into every track.
In breaking from the past, KVSAL becomes a kind of time traveler—uncertain of the destination, but grounded in the present through music. His sound creates a space where inner and collective barriers can be dismantled, and connection can be rediscovered. This album doesn’t just showcase KVSAL at his most emotionally honest and instinctive—it also delivers a bold sonic experience. Produced in collaboration with the producers SSOLVE, Magnus, Danylo, and Osive, as well as featuring the up-and-coming Viennese RnB singer Chovo, the project blends diverse influences into a sound that feels both fresh and intentional.
With the release of the first single "NATEMU නටමු" and its striking visuals—once again selected for the Vienna Shorts Film Festival, just like his 2020 piece "DIES DAS"—KVSAL comes full circle, proving that his work resonates beyond the music scene and into the world of film and visual storytelling.
