The Gist

Huw Allen is the founder of The Gist, one of the UK's fastest-growing independent media brands. The Gist looks at the businesses, brands, and economic forces we all live with every day and asks what's actually going on and why it matters more than you'd think.

Huw has spent 15 years at the intersection of culture and commerce, from global film productions led by Martin Scorsese and Tom Ford, to producing launch campaigns for Apple across Europe, to advising international brands on how to grow in new markets. His work across theatre, advertising, media, and brand strategy earned him a D&AD award for creative excellence and a place as a founder member of the National Theatre's Young Studio. He holds an MBA from the University of Oxford.

The Gist is where all of that experience now lives. Built on the conviction that the way we buy, work, and live is shaped by forces most of us never think about, which are worth looking at.
