Yung Omz

Yung Omz is the solo passion project from Omar Guedar, an artist who is the embodiment of the rich musical surroundings he was raised in. This project is set to see the multi-faceted artist, who is also one third of the dynamic trio Mason Collective, break new ground musically, exploring his sound without any genre constraints. Marking a distinct departure from the sound of the collective he is best known for, Yung Omz’s DJ sets and productions embrace the rich atmospheric soundscapes that characterise Afro house and tech. Contrasting warm, earthy tones with darker, more industrial textures to create introspective sets, he’s influenced by artists such as AMÉMÉ, Uncle Waffles, Melé, Joe Kay and Black Coffee for sonic reference, having brought his sound to Miami, New York, Ibiza and Manchester in a short space of time. With highlights from summer ’24 including shows at the Hï’s Wild Corner and Club Room and Playa Soleil in Ibiza, alongside artists such as HoneyLuv, Jammer (BBK) and Major League DJs he continues to break new ground on his solo venture. A key part of Yung Omz’s intentions as an artist is his brand Reverse Radio, a party brand, radio show and soon-to-be label that creates a platform for artistic expression free from the constraints of genre definitions. Born from Yung Omz's desire to challenge musical expectations from his own experiences as a DJ and being pigeonholed into certain lanes, the parties have seen Omz invite artists at the upper echelons of their respective genres to play sets that venture outside of their usual sound, having already hosted Melé and Jesse Perez. Raised in a musical home with a father who was entrenched in Manchester’s club scene before the Hacienda had even opened its doors, there is no doubt this is just the start for Yung Omz
