Description

XNBTNI is the sonic counterpart of designer and curator; Nazifa Begum - who has long been a staple part of the London underground having closely worked behind the scenes of Bala Club for its duration, whilst simultaneously cultivating a following on her fashion label.

Her fashion work ties her with London’s independent designer concept boutique ‘Fantastic Toiles’, SHOWstudio, and overseas such as with Japan’s Radd Lounge and more, with a graduate collection featuring the likes of Yves Tumor and Ecco2k. This extended to styling multiple artists of PC music during their Pitchfork show and working closely with Two Shell.

XNBTNI then went on to co-found London’s most sought-after party at the time; Guttering, who was infamous for occupying abandoned locations and organizing large-scale parties with finely curated lineups. The collective amassed an international following resulting in working with the likes of Office magazine NYC, The Face, Balenciaga, Diesel, and more, plus a regular NTS show slot. Guttering soon developed into a record label releasing an iconic compilation that won the title of ‘Album of the Day’ by Bandcamp.

XNBTNI departed from her collective with a strong solo DJ career, carrying on their ethos of fun free-fall sets with no limit to genre or speed. XNBTNI herself seamlessly weaves through dubstep and baile, all the way to speedcore and uptempo – touching on all forms of hard dance. Her anti-purist sets have taken her international, as well as been featured with the likes of Unseelie on The Lot Radio, Widdows.de, NTS radio, Lyl Radio, to releasing a solid set with Boiler Room at their Amsterdam festival after winning the Jameson Grant. In 2023, she also embarked on a solo Asia tour, spanning over the continent with 7 gigs. She has played in major clubs, such as Printworks (London), Razzmatazz (Barcelona), and Poing (Netherlands); as well as Final (Taipei), Oil (Shenzhen China), on lineups besides Skream, Danny L Harle, Rui Ho - to name a few.

In 2023, XNBTNI went on to launch a new underground party; ‘HAUNTS’. Bringing together larger names of the music scene, from CRRDR to Spinee, to play alongside local talents of the London rave scenes; HAUNTS aims for a diverse music-focused night that platforms all forms of hard dance enthusiasts. Hosted in make-shift clubs in London, the night has grown healthily with SC mini mixes, a strong social media presence, and a loving returning crowd; catching the attention of artists worldwide.

From her long history in the music scene, XNBTNI also often assists fashion designers in pairing them with producers/musicians for soundtracking LFW shows, and further projects, as they put faith in her as one of London’s respected tastemakers. Currently, she has been tapped to have a hand in the creative direction of musicians signed on Beggars Group/XL records, combining her well-rounded creative flare and networks of the artistic scenes in London to bring to life the album visuals. XNBTNI has proved to be a continuously rising talent.
