The Nature of Invisible Things

Gloria (Laura Brandão) is a 10-year-old spending her summer holidays in the hospital where her nurse mother works long shifts. While wandering the never-ending corridors of the old building, Gloria meets Sofia (Serena), a young girl frightened by her beloved grandma’s recent hospitalisation. A friendship blossoms out of their mutual desire to spend summer away from the hospital, and the duo soon gets their way when their mothers agree to take them on a countryside adventure. Camelo’s feature debut is a tenderhearted ode to childhood friendships and a joyful modern coming-of-age anchored by its charismatic young performers.
