To celebrate the world premiere of Alaa Aaliabdallah’s Palestine Comedy Club, we are thrilled to host a one-night-only stand-up performance by Palestine’s first-ever stand-up comedy troupe.

Named after the territory’s first-ever stand-up comedy slash improv troupe – which works partly as a training school for comic hopefuls, part touring group – Palestine Comedy Club unites creatives from Ramallah to Haifa and Jenin as they build upon a fragmented national identity to make their audiences laugh and bond through their experiences of segregation and occupation in Palestine. Palestine Comedy Club trails the troupe from their beginnings to their first international tour, where they find themselves stranded in London as the war escalates back home. Faced with the most atrocious of realities, the troupe pays homage to the Palestinian sense of humour even in the darkest of times.
