Description

Renowned French actor Romain Durris leads this poignant drama as taxi driver Jay, a father unable to leave Tokyo due to a years-long legal battle with his ex-wife over the custody of their daughter. Exhausted by the unmoving lawsuit and frustrated with having missed many years of his child’s life, Jay makes a drastic decision to be able to see his daughter again. At times tender, at others heartbreaking, A Missing Part exposes the rigidity of custody laws for mixed-nationality parents in Japan while movingly observing the camaraderie that can sprout out of desperation.
