Josephine Chanter

Deputy Director

the Design Museum

Josephine Chanter has spent over two decades inspiring audiences to engage with life-enriching ideas. After beginning her career in public affairs, she has since brought her expertise to leading cultural institutions where she has championed innovation and accessibility. In 2016, she played a pivotal role in launching the Design Museum’s new home in Kensington, and in 2021, she co-founded Future Observatory, the museum’s national research programme for the green transition. Endlessly fascinated by the convergence of ideas, technology, design, and human experience, Josephine was appointed Deputy Director of the Design Museum in 2024. She is also a Bloomberg Tech Fellow, further enabling her strategic transformation work.
