Francesco Simoneschi

Francesco Simoneschi is an Italian entrepreneur and investor, best known as the Co-Founder and CEO of TrueLayer - pioneers of the innovative ‘Pay by Bank’ method and Europe’s fastest-growing payment network, processing more than $100 Billion in payments each year. Since launching in 2016, TrueLayer has raised over $320 million from global investors including Tiger Global and Stripe, reaching a valuation of more than $1 billion.

Prior to founding TrueLayer, Francesco built a number of successful tech ventures across San Francisco and Europe. He co-founded the angel investment fund Mission and Market, served as Vice President of Strategy at FOVE, and founded the analytics platform Staq.io, later acquired by PlayHaven. He also held leadership roles at Upsight and DomainsBot.

Francesco is an active angel investor with over 60 startup investments, placing particular emphasis on trust, product-market fit and founder credibility. He often draws on his own experience as a repeat founder when supporting early-stage teams.

A recognised leader in fintech, Francesco is a vocal advocate for open banking and modernising financial services. He regularly collaborates with policymakers and industry stakeholders to drive innovation and competition in the sector.
