Ashley Pilipiszyn
Founder & CEO
Besxar
Ashley Pilipiszyn is the Founder and CEO of Besxar, building the world’s first reusable orbital foundries—Fabships. Besxar leverages the ultra-high vacuum of space to manufacture next-generation semiconductor wafers for AI, quantum computing, and directed-energy systems—ushering in a new era of space industrialization.
Before founding Besxar, Ashley served as OpenAI’s first Technical Director to the CTO, where she helped launch GPT-3, DALL·E, and Codex, and stood up the early developer platform that has enabled thousands of AI products worldwide. Earlier, at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, she led the DOE-funded Grid Resilience & Intelligence Platform, deploying AI to dynamically monitor and protect U.S. critical infrastructure—work that bridged energy systems, microgrids, and data center operations.
Ashley is a certified pilot, Ironman finisher, and has traveled to all seven continents, including a 130+ mile trek through the Himalayas to install solar microgrids that electrified one of the world’s most remote villages.
Now based in Washington, D.C., she brings that same systems-level mindset and pioneering spirit to her mission of extending human innovation beyond Earth.
