This is a treat for music and film fans alike: SXSW London is delighted to present the World Premiere of The Cure Meets ' The Man Who Laughs' in collaboration with Silents Synced. The film is a re-scored edition of the 1928 silent classic by the great German Expressionist filmmaker Paul Leni, following an 18th-century disfigured clown who becomes the star of a travelling carnival, scored with music from legendary band The Cure. Developed by Austin-based indie cinema owner Josh Frank, the format brings a fresh alternative event experience to theatres worldwide. The first series played in the US and Canada, and featured Radiohead, R.E.M., and Pearl Jam. The Man Who Laughs Meets the Cure marks a global expansion in collaboration with Universal Music Group.
