Ell Murphy

South East London vocalist, DJ and producer Ell Murphy has steadily carved out her own lane in the UK dance scene, known for her dynamic hybrid DJ/live sets that blend high-energy mixing with powerful live vocals. Performing behind the decks while singing live, she delivers a unique and immersive experience — with a sound rooted in a big, vocal-driven mix of House and Garage.

Playing key live sets at Glastonbury, Fabric, Field Day, Love Saves The Day, and Waterworks, Ell has supported the likes of Interplanetary Criminal, Annie Mac, Ewan McVicar, and Antony Szmierek and delivered guest mixes across Rinse FM, NTS, Foundation FM, and more; channelling the raw energy of UK club culture while showcasing her live vocal talent.

As a singer, Ell has worked with some of the most exciting producers in UK dance music — including TSHA, Giulia Tess, Mafro, YUQT, and Gemi — with releases on labels such as Ninja Tune, Locked On, Shall Not Fade, and Greco Roman. Her track ‘Good2Me’ with Gemi landed in Beatport’s 50 Best Tracks of 2023, while her single ‘Need It’ from the ‘Moving’ EP made it into Mixmag’s Top 100 Tracks of 2024, and was recently featured as one of '5 Artists to Watch' in the New York Times.

Ell’s music has received widespread support across the board — from Mixmag, DJ Mag, Clash, and Capital Dance, to key tastemakers on BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, and beyond, including Sarah Story, Jack Saunders, Jaguar, Arielle Free, Jess Iszatt, Sherelle, and Nemone.

In 2025, she continues her momentum with the upcoming release of her new 3-track EP ‘Waiting’, out in July.

"On record, this London-based singer/producer/DJ delivers soulful vocals over pumping U.K. garage-adjacent beats, often deconstructing and then reconstructing her voice to create a patchwork of hooky sounds similar to those that Marc “MK” Kinchen popularized in the ’90s. Live, Murphy spins records and sings over them, bridging her worlds." New York Times

“With incredible vocal runs… It's rare that an artist can feel so in dialogue with the past, present and future all at once.” Resident Advisor

“Make it a priority this year to catch one of Ell Murphy’s live shows, where she effortlessly mixes, whilst belting out incredible vocals.” – Clash Magazine
