Under the expert musical direction of Joshua “Supayouth” Salcedo (keys & bass), alongside Kwami “Cecil” Morrison (guitar) and Nicholas “StaticNick” Thomas (drums), this trio has provided seamless live support for an array of acclaimed artists, including Mortimer, Kalpee, Kanis, J Perry, and more. Their versatility and deep-rooted Caribbean influences allow them to traverse reggae, soca, calypso, R&B, jazz, and fusion with ease, making them one of the most sought-after live units in the region. Each member carries an impressive résumé of individual accomplishments: • Joshua “Supayouth” Salcedo is a multi-instrumentalist and producer who has played with legendary acts such as Machel Montano, Kes The Band, Bunji Garlin, and Protoje. His experience spans jazz, soca, dancehall, calypso, and production, making him the heartbeat of The Waivers’ dynamic sound. Alongside Kwami Morrison, Joshua has also performed at Music Matters Live and the Singapore Grand Prix 2023, further cementing his international presence. • Kwami “Cecil” Morrison is a self-taught guitarist who has backed top-tier artists across multiple genres, including Nailah Blackman, Destra, Freetown Collective, and Serani. His distinct sound and adaptability make him a key pillar of the band’s sonic identity. Kwami’s global experience includes performances at Music Matters Live and the Singapore Grand Prix 2023, where he showcased his talent on a world stage. • Nicholas “StaticNick” Thomas is a passionate and versatile drummer whose career has taken him from Trinidad and Tobago’s local music scene to international stages, cruise ships, and major festivals. Known for his dynamic performances and deep musicality, StaticNick has performed with renowned artists such as Andy Narell, Theron Shaw, Tony Paul, and Etienne Charles. His ability to seamlessly blend jazz, rock, reggae, and calypso has made him a sought-after musician in the Caribbean and beyond. He has played at Jazz Artists on the Greens, Tobago Jazz Experience, Island Wave at SXSW, and major live concerts with Freetown Collective.
